What’s the Big Idea in Fourth Grade? Religion: By deepening their understanding of God’s laws for us and Jesus’ teachings, the students will learn about how to live as Catholic Christians. Within our school and classroom communities, we will share the light of Jesus every day by living the virtues and beatitudes. Math: In fourth grade, automatic recall of times tables is a necessity, as we move on to use all four operations to work with numbers through the millions. Daily problem solving experiences develop mathematical thinking and reasoning skills. Algebra concepts, Geometry, and Fractions are some of the topics woven through the Math curriculum. ILA: Reading across many genres and reading and writing for a variety of purposes develop literacy and provide opportunities for students to develop new interests. Social Studies: It’s all about our great state of Pennsylvania! Our young citizens of the Commonwealth will study Pennsylvania’s geography, history, people, and government. Science: Some Super Science Lab Learner topics will be Microscopes, Magnification, Light, Ecosystems, Chemistry, Matter and Nutrition. |
