VOLUNTEER ALERT

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PERTAINS ONLY TO THOSE VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE NOT ALREADY ATTENDED THE SESSION AND TURNED IN THEIR CLEARANCE FORMS TO THE OFFICE

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia issued a mandate that every volunteer who comes into our school must go through a security clearance.  There are two separate forms that need to be filled out – Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check and Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance Form.  If you have not already sent these forms in, the forms are available in the school office.  If you have already received your clearance as a coach or in your workplace, please bring your original forms in for us to copy.  In addition to the clearance forms, every volunteer is required to attend a Safe Environment Training Session.  Registration is available at www.virtus.org.  Registration password is “trust”.

All current volunteers must attend a Safe Environment Training Session and have their clearance forms submitted as soon as possible.  Any volunteers who are new to our school have until December 31st of the year their first child enters our school to obtain this information and attend the session.  Established families must obtain and submit copies of complete clearances before being permitted to volunteer in our school

We hope that all of you who have volunteered for our school in the past will take the time to do this.  We also hope that this will not discourage any new parents from volunteering.  This type of policy is being instituted in many schools across the country, both public and private.
