WHAT'S NEW?
Wow! You wouldn't believe all of the positive advancements going on at Nativity School! Here's just a few for this school year.
Technology
The School received a Connelly foundation grant that upgraded our computer lab to a state-of-the-art wireless lab. In addition, we have a brand new 60" Smartboard installed with a ceiling mounted projector in the lab which enables our computer classes to participate interactively with activities in class as well as being a better visual tool for demonstration.
Room 210 is a Technology room equipped with a smartboard, projector, laptop computer and other aids for the teachers to use with their classes as they choose independent of computer classes.
Room 211 has been converted into our Science classroom. This classroom will be equipped with Science equipment and tables that will aid in conducting hands-on experiments in small groups. We hope to add equipment and aids each year to improve the possibilities of Science work that can be conducted.
We have a Microsoft Server environment in place with a local company that deals with Catholic Schools supporting us. We still have all the features as before with file/print sharing, e-mail for teachers, and remote access to email from anywhere via the web.
The entire school computer system operates now on Windows XP and Office 2003. Students have access to their files from any of these PCs. The PCs are protected from changes so the children can concentrate on learning and less support needed to fix needless problems.
In addition, a new Internet firewall has been put in place to filter the content of the Internet at the school. This is to protect the children from inappropriate material on the Internet.

In anticipation of the 50th Jubilee of Nativity of Our Lord School in 2008, we are anxious to establish a database of current addresses for our Nativity alumni since its founding in 1958. Please check the Alumni Program section for ways to register as a Nativity alumni in order to receive information about the upcoming jubilee.
